英語であるアルファベット列

What is the English language for me? The answer would not be simple, but to mention a point as it goes in my mind, it is this: I can read text written in English to some extent, whereas I can almost not read Norwegian text or Turkish text for example.

They all are written with the Latin alphabet ... but as of now, English text is the most intelligible for me among other languages written with the relatively familiar Latin alphabet. To me, among alphabetical letters arranged in lines as text, only those of English can make sense at such intelligibility.

To put it in terms of video games, I might be, say, at level ten or fifteen in English whereas at level one in Czech or Latvian. For I have almost no knowledge of these Slavic and Baltic languages.

I mean ... thanks to this status, that is, thanks to this acquired skills in the language, the English language is somewhat special for me. More or less accidentally, English is by far the most intelligible European language for me. So it means I have in me at least one representational sample of languages of far Europe understood by me to some usable extent.
