Now I've got a question: which is harder, to master English and to pass the judicial examination in Japan?

I have an image that you need at least a couple of years of very hard studying in order to pass the judicial exam.

But can a couple of years of hard study make you a master of the English language? I can hardly believe that is possible. Perhaps there might be someone who can, but not so many could do it.

Considering this, if I aim at being proficiency in English as quickly as possible, I need to deem it to be as hard as the judicial examination at least, in the amount of time to be spent. There would be few who think unserious studying would bring passing of the judicial exam.

But why do I somehow have an image that English is easy? Why do I, personally, feel it's not so much impressive to be a master of English compared to being a lawyer? The reason might be only because English speakers are far more commonly seen than lawyers. But it must be a very wrong illusion that mastering English is much easier than passing the judicial exam.
